El Roi (The God of Seeing).

Updated: Apr 16

El Roi (The God of Seeing) watches over us. He searches the heavens and the earth for those who are faithful and open to receiving his steadfast love. His vision is surgical, seeing beyond flesh and bone into the hearts and minds of men. Nothing is hidden from his sight, there is nowhere one can hide from his gaze, the darkest crevice to us is as bright as noon to Him and everything in the universe falls under his scrutiny. He is a judge to all mankind, seeing through every facade and disguise, yet choosing to fixate his eyes on the righteous. He does not intrude or scheme to catch people in acts of evil. He simply observes the acts of men and makes a righteous judgment. He does not secretly surveil creation, waiting for people to falter. He is patient, hoping to find good, gentle hearts like his own; hearts ready to embrace the abundance of love he has prepared for his children.

His gaze is warm, radiating heat like the spring sun emerging from behind the clouds. His eyes hold immense power and heat capable of burning, yet he moderates it to warm the soul and soothe the spirit. When he finds a willing vessel, he generously pours his affection into their hearts, filling them to overflow. He imparts his Spirit to them, making them reflect the nature of God. As a result, the child of God chooses to lavish affection on the Lord, creating a visible, palpable bond between them, bringing them closer together.

"Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who hope in his steadfast love, that He may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine."

-- Psalm 33:18-19

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.

-- II Chronicles 16:9
